re:discovery records präsentiert mit stolz die erste vinyl-ausgabe von off the sky gently down the stream . ursprünglich 2006 auf dem kult-ambient-label databloem veröffentlicht, hat sich das album in den letzten 15 jahren zu einer der wichtigsten veröffentlichungen in ihrer diskografie entwickelt. fans von rhythmusbasiertem ambient im glitch-stil wie shuttle 358, mille plateaux, thinner, 12k records und später force inc. bis hin zu minimal- und dub-fans des kölner stils sollten von diesem wunderschön klingenden album wirklich angetan sein.

this is a journey into sound. a series of journeys across the globe, in-fact. this time with don leisure from darkhouse family. let us tell you a story. firstly, we first need to answer a question. who is shaboo? it began in africa. nasser barwani was the son of shabudin. at the age of 15, nasser (don s uncle) left kenya and hitch-hiked his way to london. nasser entered the movie business, occasionally finding himself in front of the camera, acting in bollywood films. it was then that nasser changed his surname to adopt a screen name - shaboo.

it’s time for another prruk sampler. prruk104 combines four of the names that have circulating through the label s discography in recent times. for the a side we have self reflektion label owner stranger with a peak time warehouse anthem called “thinner” which uses heavy syncopated percussion sounds which dominate the whole track. for the a2, hans boufffmyhre comes up with a distorted bit of techno action that will definitely turn some heads. london based jamie haus opens up the b side with a psychotic anthem whilst ear to ground head honcho gareth wild closes down with a more emotional rave cut.

reference (planet e / echospace / beretta) consists of the detroit-based artists luke hess & brian kage. in the first reference vs project we squeezed some of the party out of seth troxler and some of the percussion expertise from ryan crosson to create the still sought after tracks >the fade< and >the bumps<. in the second installment of our reference vs series we wanted to get a bit more soulful, & deep with the music, and highlight two of the worlds finest dub techno artists - stephen hitchell (cv313) and marko furstenburg (surphase). stephen hitchell aka cv313 is first a sound engineer. his experiments with synthesis create a warm, ethereal, and organic analog sound all his own. in the reference vs projects we seek to extract the natural strengths of the artist. when we received the files from stephen we knew we were packing heat! we structured our zone around the life-like chord structure that cv313 so effortlessly creates and gave it some more dance floor flavor. we believe the track titled >the wake< will fill dance-floors over the summer months on the beach as well as in the clubs. what can we say. markos shuffled dub stab style has been in demand since the artist started releasing on thinner back in 2002. mr. fürstenbergs deep and emotional music is an extension of his character. we were happy to receive what we expected from marko, super percussive, cavernous, and soulful soundscapes. again we referenced the package out with some drones, new analog rhythms, and eureka. the zone continues relentlessly in >the swell< to carry the dancer through the night into another summer day in the sun

2009 ist das jahr von kleinschmager audio. nach seinem debutalbum im märz folgen nun die ersten remixe. >helicotrema< wird von sven tasnadi (oh!yeah!, pokerflat) auf gekonnt minimal-technoide art und weisere-interpretiert. drums und percussions stehen von beginn an voll im vordergrund, werden aber nach und nach ausgedünnt, um in folge dieser spannungsgeladenen steigerung noch kraftvoller wieder einzusteigen. einenergetisches dj tool par excellence. >emphasis< bekommt von marko fürstenberg (ornaments, a.r.t.less, thinner) seinen gewohnt deepen detroit dub techno stempel aufgedrückt - einfach zeitlos. grund genug, diesem remix gern die komplette b-seite der 12“ zu geben. zwischen beide remixe gesellt sich mit >tuba auditiva< noch eine singleauskopplung. der track mit der saxophon-hook ist einer der knaller des albums und fehlte bisher einfach auf vinyl.

trimsound returns with a long awaited ep from head honchos tom ellis and leif. a quality combination of funkfilled jackin tekky beats, spacey dubby minimalism and deeeeeep jazzy house are on offer here, a nice variation for minimal and deep house heads alike... tom and leif have been busy notching up some well-respected releases on labels such as telegraph, thinner, highgrade, fear of flying and hartchef discos, with lots more projects in the pipeline. stay tuned for more trimsound action in 2009!.

baum005 are no other than marko fürstenberg of a.r.t.less/rotary- cocktail/ornaments and thinner fame. on the b side the artist sgi_s joins with a remix. what can you say, but espenhain on the a side is a dancefloor filler. a tight compressed, kick and marko s atmospheric touch of dubby techno. the espenhain remix on the b side, is shaped by swiss artist sgi_s. this track is more of a pure techno track with a old school feeling to it. appegiator groove with a break that builds up to a peak point, but still manages to be deep. ratsholz is the last track on the ep, a soundscape of hiss and noises that forms the hypnotic groove of the track. it starts slowly but it evolves into a sure late night track with a nice melody!

ojo de apolo starts with receptor (jorge cortés), music producer and owner of this label that comes from santiago de chile. his work as receptor , from 2002 onwards, is geared towards a more deep-house sound in net and vinyl labels,such as: sushitech, winsome-music, plong!, adjunct, citymorb,them, thinner, etc. side b, includes a remix from the original track (fuerte y claro) made by ion ludwig from netherlands. his work is well knowed by releases in labels such as: stock5, resopal , underline and his own label quagmire among others

greyscale s next full-length release come from german based artist audhentik. titled hypno , this album encompasses 14 pieces that dive deep into a heavily-based synthetic world of atmospheric ambient and dub. imagine if you took some amazing pictures of a desert island then put on a pair of ambient dub filtered glasses on. a picture-esque nature beach scene has been processed so heavily that they evoke memories of a place you have been before. this is a true artistry in ambience. perspectives combines a wonderful balance of field recordings with washed out chords of grandeur. breathtaking and majestic like looking down on to a city from an amazing view off a mountaintop. period explores an off-kilter dub rhythm while feeling stuck in a languid moment of disorientation as the track disperses the tension near the end. that astounding build leads perfectly in to the title piece. hypno is a 9+ minute journey deep into the abyss with a track of pure aural pleasure. epic is an understatement here. a standout among many other standout s here. infinite edit is one of the key interlude s that link the tracks together on the album. this one provides a thinner airier stratosphere then the previous ones giving you a chance to catch your breath as you prepare for another trek into the depths of static . this one has you feeling adrift in a nautical theme of optimism through the arduous recent events of a shaky future. a wonderful storytelling is evolving on hypno ...
