after 2 years of throwing events in new york, stranjjur nycs next logical step was to move on to a more international platform. after introducing artists such as milton jackson, carlo lio, spencer parker, manik, till von sein, alex niggemann, pezzner and many others to the big apple, stranjjurs kev obrien (alongside label partner andy inelli) have decided to carry on the same a&r principals that made the events a success over to stranjjurs newest venture: a fully-fledged record label. the new brooklyn-based label has decided to hit the ground running with its debut ep coming from hot italian duo, lula circus. having also just recently been signed to one of americas hottest labels, culprit, its safe to say that the lula boys (danilo and sergio) are on the cusp of becoming stars of the underground dance scene. the vinyl edition of the miami vices ep features two amazing original tunes from lula circus, including title track, miami vice, which takes aim at the dance floor with a full arsenal of heavy bass and a powerful disco-inspired hook that instantly grabs a hold of the soul and refuses to let go. ovum and hot natured wonder-kid, manik, delivers a highly addictive remix, by slicing the main hook up, while supporting it with an insanely groovy bass line. on the b-side is pumpin groovin moovin, a future-funk jam thats carried by a focused low-end groove and catchy vocals. the remix comes courtesy of freeranges (and recent crosstown rebels signee) pezzner, and its one of his biggest remixes ever. this one has been receiving lots of early promo hype, thanks in part to maya jane coles, who included it in her bbc radio essential mix earlier this month. mayas support has helped to create a global whirlwind of anticipation amongst house music aficionados for the release of this incredible ep. the time has finally come for stranjjur imprint to be born!
