boya is davin conaty, a young musician from the northwest of ireland. he grew up playing classical piano and trombone, which he left behind at the age of sixteen to play drums in a punk band. now he has moved onto machines - and somehow he has managed to extract as much feeling from them as live instruments. this is his first ep. we are proud to present it.

after his remix work for lars mostons >we like this<, philipe de boyar catched the moment to show hammarskjöld whats his original way of rollin right. straight electrofunk mania in wallflippin mode. ultra cut grooves added with that highfeelin funkadelic sweet lead melodys…. a more reduced/minimal touch has the interpretation of touché. still funky, he managed it to become a more melancholic flow. little retroness is also hidden in this mass of silent pumpin atmosphere. off grooved elements rising steadily, guided by bleeps and layers it shows us the smooth side of a >soulfreaka<
