markus suckut is an emerging talent in the world of deep, purist techno. having already released on labels like stroboscopic artifacts and lineal, suckut is quickly honing his skills and turning out some seriously impressive club tools. shine opens the ep as an understated track stretching over 10 minutes, however to experience this on a full club system, perhaps when suckut plays at the figure label night in berghain in april, youll quickly.. >symbiosis< is a paranoid jack track - 2011 style. rigid, reduced and yet alive with endless automation and a very unique sound design. on a more dubbed tip, >you< shows suckuts deeper edge in a controlled and well rounded atmospheric tool for the early hours

the somewhat mysterious ld nero debuts with a release on peter fords venerable trelik imprint. the nites out ep is dipped in the kind of glossy production sheen that one expects to hear from a seasoned producer, with opening jam >nite out (dusk dub)< nailing that early 90s, stripped back house sound with effortless aplomb. the deep and hypnotic drum programming undulates next to neat organ stabs forming for a truly rhythmic dancefloor jacker. flip over for the dawn dub of the same track, with both name and sound suggesting this ones aimed squarely at those still standing and/or dancing come sunrise. this time a more ethereal atmosphere permeates, with a refreshing live and un-sequenced feel to the production

extremely welcome reissue of this super dope and super rare slamming early 80s boogie classic. coming out of chicago in 1983 on the tiny label full scope, this was the only release for both the label and the band but what a release!! heavily synth-laden, echoing cowbells, tight crisp percussion, superb bass - this is a fantastic example of 80s funk at its absolute best and deserves all the accolades it gets. get a copy while you can.
records like this dont come very often. thankfully it seems there are still people out there who care enough to create beautiful projects and timeless music. after the ingenious june white label came out last summer, these days records office fell in love with it and without wasting any time rushed to contact the mysterious artist and propose an album. although well-hidden in a secret back-alley of west london where june lives and dreams music, his unique approach on acid house, synth wave, chicago house and 80s nostalgia was too good to be left unnoticed and has been favored by people such as panorama bars steffi, mathematicss owner hieroglyphic being, terre thaemlitz and the clone record store to name but a few. almost half a year after his >alleviation< ep, junes debut album >cytheria< has been realized and features a 12inch sampler with two brand new tracks and two remixes by critically acclaimed dj sprinkles on one of junes older tracks >lost area<. terre thaemlitz aka dj sprinkles, who has been well renowned for his contributions in music and arts in general for the past two decades, delivers an epic remix that takes one to a forgotten musical territory somewhere between early warp records, hacienda, 80s new york club sound and older balearic music. the albums cd version includes 10 new songs and 4 from the artists back catalogue and retains a great balance between dance floor orientated tracks and synth-pop.
this premium edition incl 12inch vinyl + maxi cd ... early support by session victim, motorcitysoul, darve clarke, dj sneak, john tejada, mr. g, catz n dogz, deetron, joris voorn, luca doobie, secret cinema, patlac, laurent garnier, roberto rodriguez, aki bergen, haito and more.

sampler 12 inch of tom tragos upcoming album >iris<! leading up to tom tragos debut album >iris<, to be released april 2011, comes this three track sampler. the tracks featured here show the diverse nature of the album, which can be best described as a futuristic soul album. after releasing his double ep >voyage direct<, early 2009, tom has spent the last two years finding his signature sound. the outcome of this search has resulted in >iris<. where >voyage direct< was his homage to disco, >iris< deals with all of toms musical inspirations. shaping these inspirations into a new sound and creating an exciting mix is where tom really succeeds. the three tracks on the sampler all deal with merging the old with the new. >being with you< is a match made in heaven between electronic music and r&b, >space balloon< lets disco and funk make love in a spaceship. what you do is a future version of late 80s chicago hip house, which features tyree cooper (who, together with fast eddie, invented the genre).
balans records is the latest addition in the wolfskuil labelroster. devoted to pure and honost house, techno, acid and electro music with a distinct old school flavour, but also strongly settled in the here and now.

boys and diamonds is unmistakably a pop album but also one that comfortably fits in with kompakts long-standing lineage of genre-refracting releases. you will be hard up find another record that cohesively brings to mind siouxsie rubbing elbows with shabba ranks, giorgio moroder sipping daiquiris in bali, desmond dekker envisioned through skittering footwork, tom tom club sitting in with congotronics, even early madonna produced by chris and cosey. unlikely as all of that sounds, rainbow arabia makes it sound easy. mostly recorded at their home studio in echo park, muppet palace, boys and diamonds was written and produced by the couple with help from their friends in los angeles and beyond. drummer/producer extraordinaire butchy fuego (pit er pat, boredoms, mia) contributes arrangements and beats in places, and icy demons dylan ryan plays on the percussion-heavy island shuffle nothin gonna be undone . the album was mixed at the wonderful hobby shop studios in la by mudrock, who also adds some final production touches on the record. the 11 new songs on the album, were also made possible by the encouragement of peers/heroes in la like former ghosts, fool s gold, secret circuit, abe vigoda, and part time punks dj crew. outside of their hometown, they also found support and inspiration from kindred spirits like pictureplane, spoek mathambo, as well as their new home, the ever-illustrious kompakt
we are pleased to announce the debut release of a young producer from the uk, bnjmn. his adventurous electronic sound is one we haven t heard in a while, and excited us on first listen. while on one hand his music has a traditional sound (early 90s uk), bnjmn does create a world of his own due to the versatility in his productions. it is this versatility that creates an exciting hybrid sound, therefore pushing the envelope and making it sound very current, future even

12 Inch 23.02.11
phoreski, who was the first ever remixer for iib returns to remix >electric sunburst< from the harlyn bay lp, creating a heads down dirty balearic slo-mo basement monster as only he can. next up is tony watson from adult contempory / la who remixes >pacific breeze< adding a touch of west coast b-boy flair. peter visti takes on the not-yet-released track >childhood melody< creating an epic balearic journey starting fairly uptempo before changing gear to groove along at a more leisurely slomo speed. top quality as always. finally, and proving the boys have the jump on tomorrows stars early, the amazing & much sought after aeroplane rework of >too hard<, originally released in 2007. another all round top package.
early support by session victim, motorcitysoul, darve clarke, dj sneak, john tejada, mr. g, catz n dogz, deetron, joris voorn, luca doobie, secret cinema, patlac, laurent garnier, roberto rodriguez, aki bergen, haito and more.
scope is back now with his first vinyl on night drive music. with a jacking mixup between chicago and detroit influenced house music he is directly aiming for the dancing legs.
jorge ciccioli is not a newbie anymore. he remixed kleinschmager audios >audio3< for rrygular, last year. and consistently in early 2011 he delivers his first techno-stomper. although with full focus on the dancefloor, >jawa< doesnt need any stereotype offbeat emphasis but throws around percussins in semiquavers. on the flip side there is no time for you to relax! the hypnotic winter solstice remix by tim xavier really knocks your socks off!
the title track >juneau< comes at you with force, grace and a warm low end perfect for a late night or an early morning. pier bucci and crazy larry aka glacier really work the knobs and controls to create a melodic yet refined sound. this is definitely the most emotional track on the release, usually evoking quite a response from the dance floor. play this at the right time and you will have a smile on your face for sure.
supported by reboot, secret cnema, julian chaptal, shlomi aber, nick warren! nick daring, take note of the name, because the young italian is set for great things. after early releases on rawthentic and greelpound, its time for us to introduce him to a wider audience, with his debut release for kiara. as with many of todays young producers, nicks youth has been filled with music. the vast variety of which has helped in his own eclectic style, both behind the decks and in his own productions. teaming up with kiara was an obvious, evolutionary step, and today he presents his decomposition of the past ep. his three original tracks le mabadi, paint of desh and wyeth, all perfectly showcase nicks ability to create simple, hypnotic rhythms, wrapped in layers of raw funk. kiara favourite leix steps up to remix wyeth. harnessing the impetuous groove of the original, leix injects his own percussive nous and creates a beautifully warm rework. another producer whos never short of a healthy dose of hip swinging serum is dutchman, david lebeij. he gets to grips with paint on desh and presents a classic bass-driven house remix
deep house and tribal beats with remixes from jt donaldson. jt donaldson and adam pickrell (white lotus society) team up with zimbabwean artist hati monetsi to create a unique work entitled >ceremony<. spoken in her native tongue of shona, hati pens a passionate tribute to loved ones who have passed while jt and adam frame her words with their elegant, deep musical production.the original mix features driving tribal beats while the techno mix is presented in a vintage detroit style. jt also provides two key bonus remixes: a straightforward house mix and a lovely early 90s deep house mix that pays homage to the early beginnings of the beloved music we all have come to love. timeless. support from fish go deep, scope, oliver desmet, jask, nathan g, groove assassin, marques wyatt, deron delgado, soul minority, john hawley
hot off the heals of the core series reissue of >i feel the rhythm<, slow to speak offers its latest edition of prescription family represses: glenn undergrounds >mighty real groove<. released under his early moniker, c.v.o, >mighty real groove< beats into even the most stubborn ears the truth of trent & co.s collective of hand-picked mid-west talent. the 1995 masterpiece is a devastating, pulverizing party-rocker that utilizes the used and abused sylvester sample so typical of the disco era and re-cultivates its simple universality in a way that avoids the cliches of discos expired optimism. add the smart chord progression and one of the most un-subtle, chest-reverberating, entrails-twisting, thor-hammering bass lines ever to grace a deep house record and you have >mighty real groove<: a party jam that still wields the musical elegance and warmth of the prescription catalog. hammered to death by theo parrish & so many more, this time-tested c.v.o classic has signed up for a second tour of duty, spreading the true underground gospel to those unbelievers who still dwell in the mansion of shadow and despair
nocturbulous is proud to present his 2nd release. qubo will be feature from label owner himself, jean bruce with two exclusive remixes, from andr dalcan and david carretta. the sound is again under 80s and early 90s influences. qubois now ready to make the dance floor burn

played by: tensnake, the revenge, aerroplane, erol alkan, diskjokke, 6th borough projekt, toby tobias, faze action ...
anyone in the dance industry get soft knees remembering back on this one. >jam on it< is one of that eras biggest tunes, period. its in the same league as >rappers delight<. newcleus was a pioneer in the electro-hip hop-boogie scene back in early 80s. >jam on it< sold more than one million copies world-wide back in 1984. so guess how excited we are to present this little gem to you. we invited the high and might chicken lips and they delivered what they do best, spaced-dubby disco.
in all of his years of being a certified veteran in the world of techno - from his beginning days in napoli in the early 90s to his celebrated status around the world today - marco carola never once lost grip on his main priority: letting the music speak for itself. throughout his leagues of vital releases and endless stream of dj dates, his focus always steered clear of sensationalized press angles, or ranking up the charts he chose to instead keep his head down and his passions high. carola retains a rare sense of integrity, despite being an artist who is consistently changed the face of techno.

so what is the sound of progressive disco? well it captures the insane rhythm and the unforgiving driving beat that is instantly found in the funk of the early seventies but real disco music also had a formula that would guarantee the hottest djs success if played at the right time. that formula was a blend of up-tempo rhythm sections laden with south american percussion mixed with soulful vocals and orchestral strings - a symphony of sex, lust and love. we change the formula and focus on the rock, electronic and dub elements - slower, sleazy and fun.
for the second and far overdue release on his little leaf imprint matt moroder delivers a superlative psychedelic reimagination of shuggie otis which sits far beyond the realm of your blog standard ableton edit. matt scliced the original into little pieces put it new together and added some drums and percussion with the respect this soul classic deserves. this rework is hypnotizing makes you wish to never end. on the flip hamburgs hardest working entertainer erobique used the same kind of gentleness to rework some cello and voice by one of the greates disco visionaries and songwriters that left us much to early. by creating a dirty mpc beat and blend it with vocals and cello erobique creates his own vision of the late arthur russell far from the average four too the floor mediocrity. this vinyl only release is strictly limited to 300 copies and shines even more with a splendid artwork that shows love and care
with the litany for a return ep, mri follows the course he has established with weakend polka and his third album black swan dance, enjoy and lose control! early support comes from matt john, d. diggler, jeremy p. caulfield, butane, marcel knopf, sean o neil
well rounded kick off 2011 with the deep space bump-n-hustle of littlefoots aptly named >interplanetary< ep.
all 4 tracks contrast tuff dry drums & low sweeping subs with cosmic atmospheres and twilight melodies and chords. theres a unique strictness in the drums here, less swung than typical garage but with innovative programming that shows a producer keen to explore new possibilities. as ever with well rounded and our producer friends, we are celebrating influences from the past - think classic 4/4 uk garage in the vein of dem 2, mixed with early 90s rave sounds and welded together in a motor city car plant. with added post-dubstep production sensibilities, littlefoot is creating an unheralded hybrid sound. all 4 tracks contribute to the completeness of the ep - we go in hard, explore different areas and complete our journey with the last track. we hope you enjoy this trip.
in early 2011, crc, one half of finlands red-hot electro-duo morphology, returns to heliocentric music with two new blistering tracks in the vein of famous 90ies uk-idm techno like b12 or nuron/likemind. the contribution by myon is a 9-minute cut with huge basslines and strings that will rock your socks off! after the big success of their previous combined release, crc and myon team up again to deliver a record, which is highly inspired by detroit-techno in general and contains lots of… strings & harmonies!

repress !! blackest ever black is a new london-based label that seeks to re-establish electronic music as a poetic, provocative and emotionally inquisitive force. music by artists, not engineers. its first release is a self-titled ep by raime, a british duo who draw explicit inspiration from the marginal mavericks of early european goth, industrial and synth wave - artists largely omitted from the current master narrative of post-punk history, and who strove to make music at once cerebral and visceral, futuristic and atavistic. well-versed in the language of club music, but rejecting its typically rigid sequencing and arrangements, raime use technology pensively - to convey a sense of crisis, collapse and longing. transporting and disorienting though their work might be, its narratively taut and has no truck whatsoever with the cosmic, its too aggressive and engaged to be called psychedelic.
early support from locodice, matthias tanzmann, gregor tresher, dubfire, nic fanciulli! new japanese dance music label, arpa records is launching as its first release very own label boss dj sodeyamas techno track >miles<. previously having released on respected labels zenit, ante zenit and more recently on labels archipel, kumo, we are, dj sodeyamas tracks feature a wide range of musical dimensions and have gained much credibility and interest from djs worldwide. the original mix features ontop of some heavy minimal beats and an expanding rhythm, a poetry reading by richard spitzer and a deep but solid synth groove. 8bit and cecille label boss nick curly takes the other side into a trade mark remix featuring some long breaks but kept together by some solid groovy rhythms throughout.
keyboard masher have happily joined the all ears roster, debuting with their second stunning ep luckily for you, we also managed to secure a small box of their incredible debut km editions 1 ep from early last year this ep sold out immediately through the handful of uk outlets lucky enough to get a few, and thankfully the boys kept a few back for a rainy day ! really very special indeed
keyboard masher came to our attention with their incredible debut km editions 1 ep early last year, selling out immediately through the handful of uk outlets lucky enough to get a few. as a fairly under the radar operation from london town, enthusiasts and champions of the good stuff, km have kindly allowed us to help them move the sensibly titled and equally brilliant km editions 2 ! picking up plaudits from titans of balearia like phil mison, moonboots etc, km editions 2 is a heady mix of early 80s, synth drenched boogie (amor & satisfaction), arabic influenced folk-funk (discotheque arabe) and a beautiful alan parsons style mid-tempo jam in the shape of >tartari< really very special indeed...
erell ranson is based in the north of france and has already released memorable records on arne weinbergs aw-recordings, as well as on his own myself label. he expresses his personality through these soulful productions, and this new release on adepth demonstrates how his great talent has developed even further. each track on the new everything needs to be clear ep is an individual musical journey in its own right. the 4 track ep begins with erells original version of >everything needs to be clear<. its combination of gentle chords with electro beats is the foundation of the musical ideas explored throughout this release. the second track, >so strange to explain<, is deeper and an adventurous fusion of dark, intense tones, swirling beats and insistent percussion. on the flipside, canadian rennie foster remixes the title track, and delivers a fine piece of modern dancefloor techno which respects the key elements of title track. erells >sandcastle< closes the ep, and its sophisticated yet punchy bassline and fragile synths recall some classic early 90s productions.
fer br is one the most prolific artists on the special series imprint with now finally his debut album ready to launch early 2011! fer br has stirred the techno scene with his incredible fresh and funky techno sound. very well produced and very very party friendly! the girls just love his sound. so if you are into the dj-ing for getting the girls, you must play fers productions! with not only great tracks and remixes for labels like gtmuzike, basics, subcult, code, cobra, patterns and many more he also set up his own imprint which is called funkme. thats just fer br. it cant get any funkier! this is funk. fer br presents: this is me!
one would be curious as to what a track such as this one would sound like. images and visuals floating through your head as you press play, the airy, angelic pad intro induces you into a trance-like state before soothing piano lines and a pitched-up vocal reminiscent of the early hardcore era takes you away. as the drums come in with a half-time feel, it is easy to imagine japanese taiko drummers playing their part. once the break takes hold, a short span of melodic heaven uplifts before the drums take control again.
fof kick off 2011 with a nod to the past in the form of justin drake (peace division) and kevin griffiths- (tsuba) -the devil-s eyes-, a deliciously grimy jackin- groove, coming on like a low slung mid 90s house production a la schatrax. we enlisted the talents of christopher rau for the first remix. as many of you know christopher has had an impressive 2010 culminating in his critically acclaimed lp -asper clouds- for the always excellent smallville label. chris cleverly uses elements of the original, intertwined them into an altogether quirkier, more optimistic deep house groove with a definite injection of -fun-: to round off the package, new talent bleak takes the reigns, providing a peak time techno stomper. bleak-s debut single will be released on hamburg imprint -sudden drop- sometime in early 2011 and promises to mark bleak out as a name to look out for.
played by: richie hawtin, sis, robert dietz, laurent garnier, monika kruse, sasse, jimpster, motorcitysoul, brothers vibe, paco osuna... lets go for 2011! the third year of sonido records starts with with a special release - it is the first collaboration of the labelheads timos & paris liamis. the name says it: for the funky e.p. the track >for the funky< on catalogue number 11 is a funky groover with some very effective oldschool house and techno beats influenced by the early 90s. the track >hey hoe< is an extravagant sounding, funky dancefloor killer. it is produced in collaboration with the singer and songwriter julian smith from frankfurt. also the package includes a remix from the well known brontosaurus artists arto mwambé...... hoes lets get funky!
ltd repress !!! where to begin with >likewise<...from a handful of cds that emerged early last spring >likewise< was by far the record of the night at diddys house party in miami. it then hit the top spots in mixmags charts and became one of the most wanted tracks by every a list dj during ibiza this summer and is still being championed by djs such as luciano and lee van dowski !
northern structures (troels baunbæk-knudsen and lasse buhl) are a copenhagen based techno duo. troels has been making all kinds of electronic music since the age of 14 but focused mainly on a long international drum’nbass carreer under the excentric pyro moniker. lasse is a longtime dj and has been developing his own productions, with a background in soundscapes and organised noise. both share a love for the harder and deeper sounds of techno not often found in copenhagen, taking in a wide range of influences from the early uk industrial and dub tinged berlin sound to jazz, experimental electronica and rock. the ambition is to create a marriage of industrial and organic textures by avoiding strict rules of programming and aiming for more of a jam based musical playground feel.
for over six years, shadybrain is forcing innovation in drum and bass. with its 10th vinyl this is made clear more than ever. >the panic girl remixes< join various high profile artists who have never been combined on a release before: dbridge, phace, duo infernale, skyence, as well as newcomer sone. the base for all their remixes was panic girls >burn and rise ep<, a trip-hop release which was published on shadybrain in early 2010.
three other edits by the italo deviances founder marcello giordani. stop is an italian release from 1983 with 303, live & electronic drums, and percussions…a very chicago feeling till the lead vocal starts so become very early 80s italo disco! automatic is from an italian singer / soubrette called patrizia pellegrino… warm bass and synth pianos with a space/ flangered lead vocals. p&p is a must for all disco lovers, taken from the break of nightlife unlimited peaches & prunes its a tribute to ron hardy (who has been the first to edit the song)
being one part of the dj team kassette boys, ferri borbás aka superlover is widely known as m_ferri. he was raised in berlin and after the wall came down he got musically influenced enormously by the then arising techno culture of the mid 1990ies. his early productions have always mirrored the influences of the rough, industrial and dark sounding techno sound which was brought to berlin by artist like jeff mills, laurent garnier or joey beltram. simple, radical sounding and functional: tracks like his >tanzgenerator< or >open the watergate< had shaped these asthetics into a trademark sound. his latest superlover project is slightly shifting his musical coordinates : instead of a reduced and purely funtional >m_ferri sound< his new project presents a rather emotional and energetic mix of warm sounding rhodes pianos and string synthesizers. the three tracks of the e.p. combine those sounds earworm-like to catchy melody riffs and being the metamorphosis of a new disco influenced, poppy superlover sound
