it s a big honor that the former member and -minister of information- of underground resistance from detroit alan oldham aka dj t-1000 does a remix for this release. living between berlin and detroit, alan is a mastermind in electronic music and has pitched this track to a strong minimal -detroit meets berlin- version. the gunman remix is a more dramatic sub bass story. with snipped parts of the sigrid elliot vocals, a volumized organ and fx sounds, gunman gives you a blast for the dancefloor peak time. simon beeston, a music lover from new zealand who s also living in berlin, does a deep remix. with drums and a nice sub bass, he s showing his style.

our next big release at bad barbie, going out on digital and 12 inch, comes by the hand of aldo cadiz itself, but this time partnered with kareem cali. these two made a fantastic three track ep called monita ep. the first track monita presents a solid base created with a classic tech style and an extremely groovy bass line. full of small arrangements and a crazy vocal line, this tracks its perfect for any club dj. the second track bonita, is the one with the more old school vibe, from the bass line to the main acid synth, which goes evolving softly with a filter during the track to generate the needed tension. all this with a strong tech groove to follow the step of this solid ambience created by the acid synths. the last track moni, also has many techno and acid elements presents. we can perceive the techno soul mainly on the arrangement of the hi-hats and bass line, but the acid synth in triplet at the backend is what generates the crazy vibe and almost hypnotic feeling during the track, playing around with the volume of it. definitely a fantastic release to add to any collection.

here comes the second blind spot music vinyl with some of our favourite techno artists on the board. the original track scattered produced by the japanese ryuji takeuchi and it is a proper peak time smasher. ryuji after a few remixes is finally landing with an original track on blind spot music. in the past techno fans have heared his unique style on various releases on label likes of nachtstrom schallplatten, sick weird rough, huehelix or his own imprint local sound network.
on the remix duties are: mallorcas techno ambassador angel costa, who has released on some of the most prestigious labels of the techno scene such as clr, electric deluxe, micro.fon. the german michael schwarz, whose unique driving-techno materials came out on driving forces, wall music, praxxiz and at last but not least blind spots very own dr hoffmann & gabeen. the duo is infecting the techno scene slowly with their lethal sounds.

after teaming up with sawlin to deliver a series of spacy texture works, dubbed foreign awake pt.1 & pt.2, subjected returns to electric deluxe this time in searing solo guise. known for his thundering, no-holds-barred basement style, which until foreign awake was kept purely to his cloistered vault series outlet, with dolor we see the industrial edges polished smooth in this rotund and rolling three-track ep.

st. petersburg resident kito jempere is back on dirt crew with his first full release after his debut album on fata morgana and a great ep on freerange last year. following his great contribution to our deep love series we now welcome him with these two unique tracks. ranging from house to disco and jazz influences, kito found his very own style and switches easily between them. up tempo and energetic tracks with great melodies, driving bass lines and clever sample use.

with u-ton 06 we welcome berlin born and based nitam as a new artist on unterton. his first release as a producer is a collection of tracks that were all created during various recording sessions in the last year – the retold ep immediately gives a clear impression of nitam s versatile production style.

after a stunning three part compilation released in the second half of 2014, dutch label field is back with another album project, this time from american producer christopher ernst, aka l estasi dell oro, who also records as penalune and is co-founder of the voodoo down label. before now, ernst has proved himself to be adept at crafting deep and atmospheric, excellently ambient techno on a range of labels. varying his tempos and textures, he does acid, raw stuff, tough beats and more industrial grooves. across this new 8-track album, all this and more is explored in captivating fashion. this is an expressive and expansive modern techno album from l estasi dell oro that is perfectly at home on the always interesting field label.

repress 2015 ... machines do speak a language understood and appreciated by humans. measured by the success of skudge, an artistic duo that has delivered a lot in a very short time. combining their inspiration and talent through wires and analogue equipment, they seem to always present something new - in a very faithful style. what remains most significant on their output through the main label skudge records, as well as their remix material present on a row of different labels, it must be their exceptional sense of loops and unexpected detail in their productions.

ibiza based artist pepe mateos is a relatively new name to most but has been bubbling away on his home turf, clubbing mecca the white isle for quite some time, releasing since 2011 and running his own flow musique imprint mateos delivers raw and gritty compositions in the realms of house and techno. thought pepe retains a relatively under the radar status, hes managed to garner the attention of nicole moudaber, marco carola and cajmere to name but a few. here we see him launch the hide + seek imprint with more of his infectious groove-led style.

with releases and on sci+tec, tronic, trapez, rawthentic etc. frenchman matt sassari already walks on a great path with his style. so amir and butch were even prouder to get the chance to release these three bombs from the man from marseille. stripped down techno at its best.

after his first ep for l.i.e.s. last year, tzusing is back with his impeccably produced style of industrial and ebm influenced machine grinding cuts.
the tracks on this ep represent the climate of clubbing yesteryear when it was normal for djs to play such things as ministry, front 242, or nitzer ebb next to a disco track next to a breakbeat track and so forth and to say these tracks could be heard somewhere like medusas would not be off base. driving, engaging and downright gnarly we can only hope these sounds foreshadow things opening back up on the floor as time pushs forward.

the second release of rotterdam-based electronic emergencies is a 3-track 12- by the mysterious project sos of unknown origin. title track wallonie is a dark and melodic electrotech monster, while aqua is a broody and even darker affair. on the b side, wallonie is remixed by moustache records david vunk and electronic emergencies own spacemaker in early rotterdam techno style.

patrice scott and chris mitchell are back at it under their modular one moniker. segue one sees the duo pushing forward on their thematic journey into deep, interstellar techno. adding to the fire, uk deep techno maestro, aubrey blesses the ep with a remix crafted in his signature textural style.

after releasing with chris moss acid on shipwreck in 2014, drvg cvltvre is now back with a full ep of his own on dutch label cos_mos. since 2009, vincent koreman a.k.a. drvg cvltvre has been churning out his own acid, no wave and experimental house on labels like viewlexx and permanent vacation and now kicks off the new year in style with three more inventive offerings. new earth army is a slow, heavyweight and coarse track with rattling chords, angry percussion and elastic drums that manages to be physical and tough yet groovy and playful at the same time. we have become the filth of the universe is a big, fat, heavy wedge of slow motion techno with monstrous drums and wild acid lines all spraying about wildly for the duration. it’s a warehouse sized track that will reduce the ‘floor to a writhing mess and finally possessed is a sci-fi riddled track with lots of spacey synths, filtered analogue lines and paranoid sirens all making for a turbulent brew of dark and otherworldly energy. once again here drvg cvltvre proves he has a raw sound all his own.

bouq.sub is back again and happy about the discovery of great german newcomers unnamebar. with their self proclaimed tech-nu-prog style the duo obviously benefits from their background as trained jazz musician as well as djs. unnamebar means nothing else than -biological produced music from guaranteed unconventional seeding.

mystery production unit dj bmx continue their thrilling, no-nonsense adventures in the underground with the conquest of gravity ep for mil. techno-fused roller -warrior within- gets matters underway as thumping bass and ticking hi hats form the fore of the track, marching along over off-kilter bleeps and succinct glitches. the rough n ready aesthetic of the track sets the tone excellently for the ep, leading coherently into -wonders of time- where slight changes and improvisations keep your attention, with dubbed out key jabs that are matched melodically against atmospheric synth pads whirling in and out over crisp percussion clicks. -spinning across the sky- maintains the inspiration for myriad sources, cosmic, dreamy chimes are sprinkled over a tentatively used piano sequence, distorted key kicks and muddied percussion. its the only moment on the ep to include a vocal, and its used beautifully as it floats around the tracks central structure, lending it a spacious and depth-charged feel. -radim world- finishes everything off with a touch of pepe bradock style elegance - the multi-layered arrangements are fluid and dynamic, resulting in well-executed deep house.

greek duo bonnie & klein aka george & thanasis have been slowly making a name for themselves through a string of well crafted releases on labels music for dreams, timewarp and uber. their style hasnt gone unnoticed by ibizan legend jose padilla who put their recent track *carina* on his latest compilation. bonnie & klein are not only producers of the chillout sound as driving beats slowly building up with african sounding percussion more classic chillout sound and tops off an excellent 12 inch for leng.

concept e25 is back! wax classic 15 sees concept e25’s third release on the label in the space of just a year! the demand has been overwhelming for more garage house hits with that added subtle, french flourish. we heard those cries, so here we have another slammin four track record from the man himself! the opening track of the ep, sing!, is destined for greatness this summer on dance floors everywhere. for me, this will be the go-to track of the record for most djs out there. on this track, concept e25 combines a pumping kerri style bassline with beautiful sustained chords, feel good vox cuts and the occasional sax line. proper hands-in-the-air vibes here! giving it takes the ep into a deeper realm, one that evokes images of late evening summer sunsets. however, the garage swing and signature concept e25 bass sound is still present. lies leads with moody chords before introducing a vocal that will be stuck in your head for a long time! again, we have a smooth sax line to accompany the vocal up to the track’s climax. rounding out this solid release is feel this way. here, the punchy bass hits are united with an acid line that bubbles underneath, before being unleashed halfway through the track in a warehouse-reminiscent burst of resonance.

for his second outing on the lunatic imprint, cvbox presents four stripped back, deep cuts in his own pulsating analog style. riding somewhere on the edge of darkness and daylight this ep is a force to be reckoned with!

at the tail end of the 90s, gregory darsa played around with a number of pseudonyms before finally settling on his now familiar dj gregory alias. one of those abandoned aliases was headcore. it was used for a single ep back in 1998, released on chateau flight s label, versatile (then in it s infancy). here, that ep gets a welcome reissue. it s aged rather well, with all four tracks - explorations of deep house themes with occasional nods to the dubby, african-influenced style darsa would later explore on the africanism project - sounding as fresh now as they did 16 years ago. picking highlights is tricky, but we re particularly enjoyed the sparse, swinging dub-house of -cage- (accompanied with a tasty drum dub) and the chez damier-influenced chug of -in & out
