Chillin Feeling
Jacob Groening’s debut EP for Kamai Music takes the listener on a trip out into the wide open, a journey through wild sonic landscapes. The title track - „Sulg“ (A1) sets the mood. A blurred picture rendered
through a minimalistic instrumentation of echoing saxophones, guitars and piano. It oscillates around repetitive themes that range from oriental sounds to reduced blues chords like in „Giom“ (A2).
The B-Side shifts away from this and shines its light on South American influences as in „Sosa“ (B1) and the remix „Sulg“' (B2) by the Argentinian producers„Kermesse“. Groening's approach to his productions, ranging from down to midtempo, is characterised by its use of live recorded instruments, well tempered minimalistic percussions and rich melodies that take the listener on a voyage into the mind's very own comfort zone.
