For their third release Keepsakes and Jaded Nineties Raver’s Haven imprint are welcoming young Irish rising rave upstart Tommy Holohan to the label for his debut vinyl release - “Skull Crushing Techniques”. Making his name through his residency at the Techno & Cans club night at Dublin’s legendary party spot Hanger, Holohan also showed off his production ability through his dance hit “Subaru Impreza” and his recent EP on Civil Disobedience, earning him support and tips from some of the biggest DJs from across the spectrum, from Mall Grab to Dax J.
The A1 starts the EP off with building tension and experimental textures, leading into 'Fairy Cakes' - a certified rowdy breakbeat banger designed to slay the dance floor. 'Skull Skrushers' then rounds out the A-side with an earth-shattering kick and hypnotic synth line that will be at home at many grimey basement techno clubs. 'Ask For Absolution' kicks off the B-side with more smashing 4-4 and a vocal sample line nodding to the late-90s Birmingham Downwards sound. Finally 'The Wheat From The Chaff' rounds off the EP by picking up the tempo and throws clanging kicks, moody reese bass lines and loopy arpeggiators to finish off the up-and-comer's first vinyl offering.
