ltd 2017 repress !!!amsterdam dwelling editor par excellence em vee took the solo reigns on the inaugural lumberjacks in hell - and truly excelled with a great reimagination of >miss you<. the second release on the label sees the german share duties with spanish edit demon rayko, with the rare wiri boss hogging the a side. first up is an expert rearrangement of candi statons cover of the bee gees standard >nights on broadway< which strips the track of its orchestral leanings to focus on the groove! following this is a meaty take on a classic, with barbara keiths cover of >all along the watchtower< reinforced with some bottom end bump. em vee spreads a special disco version of alma lees late 70s philly delight >gimme your love< with an extended intro that fully displays his edit talents

for the latest edition of the intriguing dessert islands discs re-edit series, the label has called upon the well-renowned scalpel talents of german-in-amsterdam marcel vogel, aka em vee. the double denim-sporting eccentric drops another gem in the shape of *white heat shake it out (edit)*, a bouncy and seductive disco chop-job that makes great use of the source materials bustling groove and steamy, spoken word vocals. on the flip, lesser-known re-edit heads papi del pancake and claude von reefer take up the challenge. their *gimme what you got* has a little more deep house shuffle, but retains the key instrumentation and feel of a sumptuous disco-soul jam.

three more disco throbbers courtesy of em vee aka marcel vogel and the always on-point lumberjacks in hell imprint. the entirety of the a-side is given over to jam >body heat<, a phat, james brown sampling slice of shoulder thrusting funk that you may have already heard in the more discerning discotheques across europe. wisely, the two b-side cuts offer something completely different, with the loose drums and squealing brass of gospel-sampling >the shouting< a perfect counterpoint to the uptempo disco-strut of >mouzon<.
