redshape stars in another deep tripping, sci-fi odyssey on his imprint for present 16. opening the gate reveals a slow but surely building burner that is classic redshape, ripping the space-time continuum fabric apart at it s spoken word climax narrating of solar winds, cosmic ray particles and the speed of light. heed the track s unmistakable call and take flight on an interplanetary elevator with parched, bone-dry percussion, twisting lines with propulsive bass and growls that rumble underneath, enveloping you in an air cabin of jedi-level sound design prowess. the ride truly begins next with voyager. it s all aboard a throbbing deep low end countered by floating, melancholic sustained chords with twinkling bleeps and fading bloops that light up like the star-studded milky way. frantic hi hats and modulated percussion work keep riders on the edge of their seat through this fantasy space-age joyride at warp speed.

the blink single is a labour of love spanning over 2 years evolving from reshapes live series. the ‘tunnel mix takes its title from being road tested at the now closed tunnel club in paris and both tracks are a homage to early uk and detroit techno which redshape holds fond memories of from his youth.

redshape returns to his own label with a retrovisionist release that looks back in time as much as it looks forward to the future. revving up on the a side is shift, a propulsive hurtle to the final frontiers. starting off ominously with just drums, bass and a pollock splatter of toms, the track is soon overrun by an army of relentlessly running basslines, let loose to steer in and out like searching headlights on a dark and endless highway. with a heavier kick, the track shifts into top gear with pensive pads soaring overhead, mesmerising squeaks and his signature attention to percussive detail. on the flip is drive, which switches gears down a notch as an astrospace cruise along intergalactic coastlines - from summery california to shiny coruscant. a rounded pounding beat with heavy sub bass bounces along to a breezy tropical melody and spacious percussive work, before riding off into a cinematic sunset that is as nostalgic as it is hopeful of the c oming dawn. once again on the edge of spatial sound but grounded in analog warmth, redshape has presented a revision of classic record productions that truly punches as it is meant to be felt and heard - on wax. recommended!

august 2016 saw running back release a first volume of live tracks from redshape, but january 2017 sees the much loved artist return to delsin, his most regard label, for a second offering of the same. this time the ep has one track made in paris, and one in london, and both are filled with the sort of beautifully bleak and lo-fi sounds that have made this man such a standout artist over the years. up first is london, a chugging track that builds in pressurised layers of coarse hi hats, gurgling bass and pinging kick drums. it is a hypnotic groove that teases you as elements drop in and out and hisses of static and broken little guitar riffs add some cheeky funk. on the flip-side, paris is much more playful, with colourful pixelated melodies dancing about the mix, industrial drums working down low and steppy synths fleshing things out. overall it sounds like a future disco for inebriated robots and is one of redshape s more party starting tracks.

10 years redshape live is a special thank you to the labels i mainly worked with in the past ten years and also to all the people on worlds dance floors, which gave me so many stellar moments. starting on running back, the best of live series will contain tracks which were only part of my live set: previously unavailable and not even arranged as full tracks. as i always record my shows, i searched for the moment, in which each of those tracks had their biggest and also earliest impact. i took that recording and rebuild them part by part to make them proper dj versions without loosing their live roots. named after the cities where they were performed. av aviv and rome.

bleep repeat makes for a potent first track. here, a thumping step gives way to synth lines that sting and swell across solar systems. things get headier, grittier, reaching a furious and frightening rush with spectral soundbites to match. a homage to uk rave sounds, this track perfectly captures the uncanny pairing of aggression and rapture at the heart of 90s bleep. paper blades follows, a celestial soundscape punctuated with hissing breakbeats and a sinewy bassline. rippling acid lines beam along the astral plane, and a hallucinatory, near-liturgical melody meanders all the while. spaced-out yet inexplicably driving, this track is elevating, enveloping

die cut sleeve, shrink wrapped, stickered. berlins redshape has been releasing records for nearly a decade and in that time has amassed an accomplished discography on labels such as styrax, delsin, leaves, r&s, running back and his own imprint present which have cemented his name the amongst the greats of underground techno. nonplus are proud to release feel like riot and the rift, staying in the vein of his sci fi laden detroit techno style that continues to evolve but stay true to his unmistakable redshape sound.

running backs 50th anniversary comes courtesy of redshape. after his utilitarian bonuz beatz effort earlier this year, the masked man is back on the monolithic techno tip. graced with a sense of tradition and a modern stlye of execution, leaves is the sort of warehouse rave signal that exceeds the sole purpose of a tool. speaking of which, it comes in two different mixes to choose from accompanied by two unclothed versions for the creative dj mind.

almost exactly three years after the first, redshape has readied his second red pack, due for co release by his own present imprint alongside his frequent dutch home, delsin. whilst the world is still enjoying the germans latest album square, the man himself has typically moved on once more. on red pack ii he offers up six tracks new of hugely atmospheric and romantically industrial techno across two pieces of vinyl.

the green series is the continuing art and music project from bleep.com, giveupart, and photographer shaun bloodworth. this will be the third limited edition 12 inch in the series. each record comes with a die-cut sleeve, embossed outer and hand-stamped detail. the double a-side single features the pairing of redshape and steffi and once again brings you raw techno. the mysterious red-masked producer redshape provides a track titled focus whilst berlin techno royalty steffi delivers the aptly named attacke.

>square< is the follow up to redshapes album debut >the dance paradox< (delsin, 2009) - that is if you dont want to count the double impact 12-inch >red pack< as a long player. and indeed, it is a long player in the truest sense of the term.

hot on the heels of the brilliant in trust we space ep, redshape delivers two more top quality techno tracks on his own label present. son of a... brings back the freestyle craziness of the masked one, which we know of tracks like dog day. going wobbly acid bassline in the redshape-way! kracken s game is more of a synthy slow builder - setting a densed atmosphere. great timeless release and as all present releases only available in limited quantities!

part iii ? manipulation musik. manipulation musik is the darkest and most cinematic piece on this collection of eps. delicate manipulated melodies and melancholic strings moves in and out of a crackling and distorted soundscape, telling an experimental sound tale with a sad ending. on b-side redshape (present, delsin) makes a remix solely using sounds from the original. redshape described his tape dub version like this: ?think disco dub, plonk & pain?. not much to add to that ? it kind of says it all. enjoy!
